WordPress maintenance and security
A WordPress site is never finished. Plugins, themes and WordPress itself are updated all the time, and every update is both a security fix and a small risk that something stops working. It is the part of the job most owners never see until something goes wrong.
I have collected my articles on running a site here, so you can read them in a sensible order. Start with maintenance and backups, because that is the foundation. Security and speed build on top of it, and your choice of hosting decides how much you have to handle yourself.
If you have a specific problem right now, skip down to troubleshooting. And if you would rather have someone else keep an eye on all of it, my services are listed below the articles.
